Sometimes there is a blurred line between fantasy and reality as it happens in the new Ridley Scott’s Prometheus movie, soon to be released on June 2012.
In an old post of our Mayan diaries, we discussed in an article entitled, “We Are Doomed With Mortal Alien Invasion In 2012”, the remote possibility of an alien predators invasion. In the article, we included a solar disk with a space jockey observing space and alien exoplanets.
This time we include an update from a real Mayan mural photograph we got this year from the Mayapan Observatory, in which the similarities are profound as the real Space Jockey observing Venus transits as they happened.
In the diagram below, we make a comparison between figures and we traced with green lines on the detail of a painted panel at the Fresco Hall showing a descending character, sumptuously dressed, in the interior of a solar disk. Inside the solar circle we find a reclined person, with their legs flexed. He holds a kind of shield in one arm. His face is quite blurred and do not allow a detailed description to be made. Nonetheless, the silhouette resembles the positional observation of the space jockey in the Alien movie.
In addition, we include this amazing beautiful glyph from Chichen Itza, which was the main influence for the construction of the Mayapan observatory. In the archaeoastronomical analysis, this stele was found in the Venus Platform at Chichen Itza and shows a remarkable characteristic of the motion of the planet Venus. The hieroglyph over the bunch of reeds signifies “year”. Eight small circles represent the number 8 and the vertical bar on the left, close to the Venus hieroglyph (Lamat) means the number 5. Further, the stele establishes that 5 synodic periods of Venus (5 × 584) equals 8 solar ones (8 × 365). Such an “equation” represents a remarkable example of the interest given to Venus by Maya priest-astronomers.
A new archaeological team from UNAM will attempt to validate and replicate the astronomical findings on the Venus transit of 2012 in Mayapan.
NOTES FROM THE EDITOR: An additional Mayan reference of Venus retrograde movements is included as it shows in the alien star map projected in the Space Jockey ship depicted in the Prometheus movie. A good piece of space art and alien symbolism.
