2012: The Hidden Mayan Pyramid

The dazzling movie ‘The Fountain’ (2006), produced and directed by Darren Aronofsky, is such a piece of artistic cinematography with many aspects of truth about 2012 and we understand why our Lord Pakal Ahau considers the film, ‘the greatest movie ever made about Mayas’. The controversial film had its world premiere at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival on September 2, 2006. Several critics booed The Fountain at the festival’s press screening, while the film received a 10-minute standing ovation at the public screening the following evening. More information about its production is found here.

According to Aronofsky, ” The film is very much like a Rubik’s cube, where you can solve it in several different ways, but ultimately there’s only one solution at the end.” Interestingly, we found that final solution of the movie in an old book found in Lord Pakal Ahau’s library.

In the movie the characters describe a great secret found by a Franciscan monk. The priest shows a dagger, which is really a Maya kawiil, the royal scepter of Maya kings, with three holes in it indicating in the center of the triangle the location of a hidden Maya pyramid discovered in an old 16th Century Spanish cartography map.

Again, we consulted Lord Pakal about this finding and he commented that in the book ‘Mysteries of Ancient South America’ written by Harold T. Wilkins in 1974, the author included a similar map, in which the city of Palenque in Chiapas is in the center of this triangle with equidistant sides between the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, Copan and Yaxchilan. The author calls this finding Socabon, the Secret of the Lost City.

The fact that the priest also mentions that the long sought tree of life is at the center of this triangle and found in such hidden Maya pyramid makes Palenque the center and we all know that the discovered tomb of King Hanab Pakal in 1952 represents the most important Maya archaeological finding of the XX Century showing the Tree of Life in the King’s sarcophagus at the time of his death.

Lord Pakal Ahau says that even though the movie does not include the 2012 theme alignment it contains the visual motif of the 2012 Cosmic Alignment and this great astronomical secret was the one used by Maya kings to empower their accession and celebrate katuns through rituals in certain dates with astronomical conjunctions. We have no doubt that our culture will continue celebrating these astronomical events, particularly on December 21, 2012.

We leave the reader with a composite image of our explanation found in a great movie called The Fountain.
